7 Ways to Wear Florals This Spring

Add a touch of femininity to your wardrobe with these fun seven ways to wear florals this spring.

Floral top outfit: Add a touch of femininity to your wardrobe with these fun seven ways to wear florals this spring.

Spring is definitely in the air in my city and from what I’ve heard, it’s hitting other areas a bit early too. Not to jinx it, but I have a feeling we’ll be seeing gorgeous blooms popping up everywhere before too long and I am ready.

Not only do flowers make me happy when it comes to my yard and my city’s landscape, but also when it comes to my wardrobe. I’ve definitely had times when florals were front and center, like the late 90s when every dress I owned was full on flower power. (And yes, I have the pictures to prove it.) But now I tend to incorporate them a little more subtlety with a touch here and there.

7 Ways to Wear Florals This Spring

Are you up for adding some feminine florals to your wardrobe? Here are seven ways to do it.

Floral Blouses

One peek into my closet and you’ll see right away this is my favorite way to add florals to my wardrobe. There’s something about a floral blouse that just calls my name and instantly lifts my mood when I slip it on.

I received this floral blouse from North Style (check out another top I styled from the same company here) and I can see this becoming a go-to blouse for me this spring and summer.

I put together this virtual cardigan outfit with white denim and a floral blouse. I’ve already recreated the same outfit concept a couple of times, switching up the denim and shoes.

Floral Scarf

This is the perfect way to add just a touch of floral without feeling like you’re going overboard. You could add a floral scarf to an outfit with all neutrals or go bold and do some pattern mixing – stripes and florals anyone?

Floral Jeans

Floral jeans might be a little out of your comfort zone. But, if you decide to go for it and try them, pair them with a neutral top and shoes. For those spring showers, you can wear a classic trench coat over this outfit. It looks super cute and classy.

Floral Sheath Dress

If you’re trying to steer clear of the boho-I’m-headed-to-a music-festival look, a sheath dress is perfect. It’s a classic dress style and one you can wear to work or dress it up for a night out.

Whether it’s a bracelet, a necklace or earrings – adding a floral touch to your outfit with jewelry is the perfect way to test the waters with your love of florals. How to Plan the Best Spring Staycation Your Family Will Love

If traveling far away to a tropical island or hitting the ski slopes for your spring break trip isn’t in the budget, a spring staycation might be exactly what your family needs. It’s a chance to save some money, but also explore your city and see what all it has to offer. You just might be surprised at what you’ve been missing out on!

How to Plan the Best Spring Staycation Your Family Will Love

Last spring break, we went on an epic trip to Yosemite and San Francisco. It was a vacation that will go down in the record books as one to remember. It was one of those trips where none of us were ready to leave. Our family loves to travel and we always come back closer to each other, refreshed (albeit tired from traveling) and talking about where we want to go next. We’ve talked about this trip all year long and I’ve been dreaming about where we would go this spring break.

Unfortunately, traveling somewhere far away isn’t going to happen for spring break this year and although what I really wanted to do was go pout in a corner feeling sorry for myself, my husband suggested we try out somewhere close that we haven’t been yet. Like a staycation! So that’s what we’re doing and I’m actually quite excited about it.

So how do you plan the best spring staycation your family will actually love? I’m  glad you asked. Here are some of the best tips and tricks for doing just that.

How to Plan the Best Spring Staycation Your Family Will Love

PLAN IT LIKE A REAL VACATION

How to Plan the Best Spring Staycation Your Family Will Love

The best way to get yourself and the family on board and excited about a staycation is with some planning. To answer the question, how do you plan the best spring staycation your family will love – it starts with actually planning it!

You don’t have to plan every minute of every day, but a general idea of what you’re going to do will help put your mind at ease. And if you have kids (no matter their age), you’ll have an answer to the question ‘what are we doing today?!‘ which makes everyone happy.

When I’ve planned staycations in the past, generally we had two to three days we were away from the house and one or two days we were at home. I also knew what days/nights we were eating out and when we were dining at home. Having a plan made it feel more like a vacation.

UNPLUG, REALLY UNPLUG

If you’re going to treat this like a real vacation, then treat this like a real vacation and unplug. Resist the urge to check work emails or answer work calls. Better yet, set up an out of office email reply so people know you’re out of touch. Let your calls go to voicemail – yes, even friends and family. This is a vacation for you and your immediate family to relax, unplug and do some good ‘ol bonding. Outside work distractions and other obligations can wait.

HAVE A FEW AMAZING MEALS

Eat out

Is there a restaurant in your area you’ve been meaning to take the family to? This is the week to do it! Plan a meal or two out at either your favorite restaurants or at ones you’ve been saying you want to try. And since you’re on vacation, you can get there nice and early to beat the dinner rush. Dinner at 5:00 pm and dessert at home by 8:00 pm? Sounds good to me!

Try new or old recipes

You can also plan a couple of amazing meals at home. Either whip up a recipe you haven’t had in awhile or try a new one. Scan your Pinterest board for all of those recipes you’ve been saving up.

Have your meals delivered

To make things even easier on yourself and add some more adventure to your spring staycation, try a meal delivery service like HelloFresh. You choose from their easy-to-prep healthy recipes each week that are ready in 30 minutes. Be sure to do this ahead of time the week before, at the beginning of the week, so you will have your meals the week of your staycation. You can get up to 50% off your first box + free delivery too, which is the perfect way to try them out! You can sign up here.

Have your groceries delivered

How does avoiding the grocery store while on your spring staycation sound? Amazing right?! Use a service like InstaCart and shop right from your phone or computer. I use this service every week and am a huge fan. While someone else is doing the shopping, you can be doing what you’re supposed to be doing on a vacation – relaxing.

BRING THE SPA HOME

When I’m searching for a place to stay on vacation, I always check and see if they have a great tub and envision myself soaking in there reading a good book or catching up on my latest Netflix binge. Why not do the same at home for your staycation? Since you’re unplugged and in vacation mode – there’s no reason why a night or two soaking in the tub shouldn’t be on your staycation to-do list.

You can read all about how to create the Ultimate Bath Experience here. While you’re soaking in the tub, sip on one of these detox waters. Are you feeling relaxed yet?

CHOOSE A FEW ACTIVITIES FROM YOUR LOCAL BUCKET LIST

I am always amazed at how many things there are to do in our local city and within a short driving distance. For your staycation, it’s time to play tourist but in your own city. Or maybe you’ve had some activities on your bucket list for awhile and you haven’t gotten around to doing them because you’ve been too busy. Well, this is the week to check those activities off that list!

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Visit a local Museum
  • Visit a local or National Park
  • Visit an amusement or water Park
  • Visit a Zoo or Aquarium
  • Go Bowling, Play Laser Tag or Arcade Games
  • Spend a day at the lake
  • Go to the movies
  • Hit the local bike or hiking trails
  • Get artsy somewhere like Painting with a Twist or a local pottery studio
  • Go ice skating or roller skating

CHOOSE A FEW AT-HOME FAMILY ACTIVITIES

One of the biggest reasons for planning a spring staycation is to save money. With some creativity and a little planning, you can make staying at home fun for everyone. (Yes, even those teens. Seriously! I’ve done it.)

How to Plan the Best Spring Staycation Your Family Will Love

Here are a few at-home activity ideas:

  • Camp in your own backyard
  • Have an at-home movie night with movie theater themed food galore
  • Eat a meal (or two) outside
  • Play cards or board games
  • Have a build-your-own dinner night and serve pizza, tacos or set up a potato bar
  • Buy donuts for breakfast (with sprinkles of course) and stay in your pajamas all morning
  • Set up your own backyard water park with water hoses or a slip and slide if you have one

TAKE LOTS OF PHOTOS

Just because you’re not in a new town or state, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t document what your family is doing. So get out that phone or camera and snap away! Take pictures while you’re out and about exploring your city. Take pictures while you’re at home. Even the simplest picture of your kids curled up on the couch, relaxed and watching a movie or around the table playing a board game is something you’ll look back on later and be glad you snapped that moment.

Have you ever planned a spring staycation? What tips do you have for making it enjoyable for both you and the family? Please share!

3 Simple Ways to Make Eating Healthy Easier

Have you ever typed ‘how to eat healthy‘ into your search bar? I’ll confess. I have and there have been many, many times in my adult years when I’ve been at my wits’ end with trying to get on board with healthy eating.

But I’ve finally realized something. I’ve been sabotaging any chance at success. How? By making it as easy as possible to eat junk and in turn, making it as hard as possible to eat healthy.

How to eat healthy - sometimes we make eating healthy so dang hard on ourselves. Here are 3 simple ways to make it a bit easier.

Here’s how the scenario has gone in the past when it comes to eating. See if you can relate.

I wake up hungry. The last thing I feel like doing is cooking, so I grab what’s convenient and fast. Oh hi, sugary cereal! Nice to see you.

Around 10:00 a.m. I get hungry because the sugary cereal and two cups of coffee have worn off. In fact, I feel quite dizzy. Whoa! I need to grab the quickest thing to eat so I can get back to work. Oh, and my body is craving sugar so…oh hi sugary protein bar that says it’s good for me.

It’s now lunchtime. Have I had any water to drink today? Good grief! I need some water. I am so freaking thirsty! I wish I would have fixed a healthy lunch but I had zero time this morning. I’ll either snack on this package of crackers and this cheese or spend money, yet again, grabbing something to go. Crackers and cheese it is.

It’s 3 p.m. and I am dead beat tired, cranky like nobody’s business and if that clock doesn’t go any faster I’m going to bite someone’s head off. Coffee. I need coffee.

It’s 6 p.m. and everyone is hungry. How long can I stand here with the refrigerator door open waiting for magic ingredients to come together and create a meal? Didn’t I just go to the grocery store? What the heck did I buy? What’s the pizza delivery number? UGH.

If you can see yourself in this example, know you’re not alone. Eating junk is easy. It’s convenient. We become addicted to it and out bodies crave it. It’s the same with caffeine. So how do we break the cycle and make eating healthy a bit easier?

Here are a few simple ways to kick-start making eating healthy more convenient and easier for you.

3 Simple Ways to Make Eating Healthy Easier

HAVE HEALTHY FOODS PREPPED AND READY

When I started doing this in my own home, it was a game changer for all of us. Growing up, my mom would have the refrigerator stocked with cut up carrots and celery in containers of water so they would stay crisp and fresh. They were so easy to grab and eat, which made snacking on them enjoyable. So I started doing the same thing in my home and we immediately started eating more vegetables and fruit.

How to eat healthy - sometimes we make eating healthy so dang hard on ourselves. Here are 3 simple ways to make it a bit easier.

Here’s what I have available in containers and at eye level in the refrigerator:

  • Sliced up bell peppers
  • Baby Carrots
  • Sliced Cucumbers
  • Celery
  • Broccoli
  • Tangelos, Plums & Apples in a Bowl (not in the fruit drawer where they hide)

Having these prepped and ready made choosing them as a snacking option easier. It made adding them to lunches easier. It also makes taking them with us when we’re on the go easier.

It only takes a few minutes of prep work at the beginning of the week, but it pays off knowing that the entire family has healthy snacking options available.

WAKE UP TO A HEALTHY BREAKFAST

Since most of us either don’t have time to cook in the mornings or we just don’t feel like it, the easiest way to handle this is to wake up to a healthy breakfast already done for you. And no, I’m  not talking about hiring a personal chef.

How to eat healthy - sometimes we make eating healthy so dang hard on ourselves. Here are 3 simple ways to make it a bit easier.

I’m talking about trying something like an overnight oatmeal recipe or make ahead egg muffins. If warming up eggs aren’t your thing, try some other make ahead breakfast dishes like these Pumpkin Breakfast Cookies or Protein Packed Breakfast Bites.

Again, it takes some pre-prep work, but it’s worth it!

FIGURE OUT YOUR MEAL PLANNING STRATEGY

I know, I know. Me saying ‘Figure out meal planning‘ is all nice and dandy but it’s hard, right? I get it. I really do. And I get it because this is the hardest area of my life right now. I’m all kinds of busy with work and I would really like my refrigerator to figure out how to create meals out of the random things I buy, from the random list in my mind, as I’m randomly walking the aisles of the grocery store.

Free Meal Planning Printable

I have it together in other areas of my life (like my outfit right now – so cute) but this is not one of them. But on the weeks that I’m all that at meal planning, we eat better and generally feel better.

Here are some ideas and resources for meal planning:

Use a meal planning service

If you don’t mind grocery shopping and cooking, but you despise the meal planning process, a meal planning service might be exactly what you need. The gist of a meal planning service is they provide you with the plan for the week, complete with a grocery list. You print out the grocery list, head to the store, shop and you’re done. The week’s meals are planned for you and all you do is come home and prepare what’s assigned for that day.

The pros of a service like this are it eliminates the timely part of looking up recipes, choosing which ones you want and then figuring out what ingredients you need.

The cons of a service like this are if you don’t like all of the meals and you have to fill in with some of your own.

Here are some of the best and most popular meal planning services:

$5 Meal Plan – Download your Plan. Print the Shopping List. Cook the Recipes. Enjoy the Savings. With this meal plan, you get weekly meal plans delivered every Friday morning to your inbox, which means you don’t have to worry about going to find new recipes for your meal plan each week. Find out more here.

eMeals – Their weekly meal plans offer variety and flexibility allowing you to pick the recipes that best fit your needs that week. Select the meals you want for the week, and our app will do the rest for you. Add your odds and ends for the week and you are all set!

MyFreezEasy – MyFreezEasy Freezer Cooking Meal Plans will help you prepare 10 delicious meals to load into your freezer in less than an hour.

Use Pinterest as Your Meal Planner

If you don’t mind the meal planning part, but you just need an organized and digital way to do it, set up a board on Pinterest called ‘Weekly Meal Plan’ or ‘Menu Plan Monday’. Browse through Pinterest at the beginning of the week and pin the recipes you want to make that week. When it’s time to sit down to make your grocery list, open up your Pinterest board to click through the recipes for the ingredients.

Pinterest Meal Planning

The convenience of doing it this way is you can plan your meals on the go from your phone and the Pinterest app. A lot of the recipes on Pinterest have the ingredients listed right there, without even having to leave the app, so while you’re waiting in the car line or at sports practice, you can even whip up your grocery list.

Use a Meal Delivery Service

If you need a couple nights a week (or more) where the ingredients for a full meal are delivered to your door, a meal delivery service might be exactly what you need. These have become incredibly popular among everyone from busy singles and working moms, to people who are just wanting to learn to cook better with fresh ingredients.

Here are a few to consider:

HelloFresh – You can get up to 50% off your first box from HelloFresh, which is the perfect way to try it out for yourself. They shop, plan and deliver step-by-step ingredients to your door. You choose from 10 easy-to-prep healthy recipes each week that are ready in 30 minutes.

Devour a tasty meal, not your precious time with HelloFresh! Get fresh ingredients & tasty recipes

Blue Apron – Choose personalized menus based on your dietary preferences and receive free weekly delivery of farm-fresh ingredients to your door. Their ingredients come with a Freshness Guarantee. Get your delivery when it’s convenient for you. You may skip or cancel at any time.

Plated – Let Plated know how often you’d like to cook and what you like to eat. Choose from their 11 recipes they put out each week. Receive everything you need to cook your chosen recipes delivered to your door in an insulated box packed with care.

Home Chef – Let their chefs do the shopping for you. With ten dinner options, new breakfasts, a fruit basket, and a fresh smoothie every week, Home Chef has something to delight everyone around your table. From hearty meat & seafood options to gluten-free and low-carb dishes, there’s a dinner option that’s bound to work for you.

Use a Grocery Delivery Service

This has become my favorite convenience when it comes to planning meals. I don’t necessarily mind planning the meals or making the grocery list, but when it comes times to head to the grocery store, some days I’d rather have a root canal. Okay, maybe not – but fighting the crowds at the store and the time it takes isn’t always at the top of my list – so using a grocery delivery service has been a sanity saver for me.

The pros of using a service like this are all you have to do is make the list and they do the shopping, which obviously saves a lot of time.

The cons are you don’t always get exactly what you want and sometimes the choices are limited. I’ll go more into depth on this in another post, but lately, the pros have outweighed the cons for me.

Here are a few grocery delivery services:

InstaCart – This is the only one I have used and so far it’s been wonderful. All of the delivery people have been so nice and have been very diligent while shopping to let me know when they needed to substitute something on my list. From the time I order to the time my groceries are delivered in my area, is usually about two hours and I order my groceries on Sunday. So while someone else is shopping for my groceries, I’m getting my kitchen ready for a batch of fresh groceries.

There is also Favor, TaskRabbit and Shipt.

Do you have any tips that make eating healthy a bit easier? If so, please share in the comments section below because we all want to know how to eat healthy for ourselves and out families.

Four Cardigan Outfit Ideas for Spring

These four cardigan outfit ideas will help you pull together something to wear this spring in a jiffy!

These four cardigan outfit ideas will help you pull together something to wear this spring in a jiffy!

If you were to ask me some of my top go-to pieces for putting together endless outfit ideas for spring, a cardigan would be at the top of that list. With temperatures usually all over the place, layering is key. And with one simple cardigan, you can create so many different outfit ideas. It just takes some experimenting to see what you like and what works best for you.

Now, there are many different types of cardigans – from waterfall, long, boyfriend and cropped. But for today’s outfit ideas we’re sticking with, what I like to call, an open knit cozy cardigan. It’s on the casual side, but you can dress it up a notch. I wouldn’t wear it to a business meeting, but as you’ll see, I’d wear it with a dressy top and jeans.

Four Cardigan Outfit Ideas for Spring

Cardigan + Striped Shirt + White Denim + Sandals + Tote

Cardigan Outfit Idea for Spring - Cardigan, Striped Shirt, White Denim, Sandals

This is such a classic outfit idea and perfect for the weekend out and about with the family, or if you’re home during the week, it’s great for every day. If you’re traveling and planning on doing quite a bit of walking, swap out the sandals for a pair of Converse or your favorite comfortable shoes.

If you wanted to dress this outfit up more, you could wear a pair of wedge sandals and add in a long necklace, earrings, plus the watch and bracelet combo. If the weather is a little chilly, a floral scarf would make a nice contrast with the stripes and it would keep you warm.

When you start with a basic foundation outfit like this, there is so much you can add to make it your own.

Cardigan + Floral Blouse (similar)+ White Denim + Ballet Flats + Handbag + Watch + Earrings

Cardigan Outfit Idea for Spring - Cardigan, Floral Blouse, White Denim, Ballet Flats

If you have casual Fridays at the office, this outfit would take you from day to night easily. Before you head out for dinner, switch out the ballet flats for a pair of nude heels or wedge sandals. Add a bracelet and/or necklace for a little more bling and you can skip having to stop off at home to change.

If florals aren’t your cup of tea, any patterned top would look really pretty. You could also swap the white denim for dark, which is dressy enough for the office and a night out.

Cardigan + Your Favorite Tee + Denim + Sandals + Tote + Watch

Cardigan Outfit Idea for Spring - Cardigan, White t-shirt, denim, sandals

One of my favorite challenges is to take a t-shirt and jeans outfit and see how many ways I can dress it up and change it. When you find that perfect pair of jeans that fit you just right and that perfect t-shirt that feels like it was made for you, it makes for one comfortable outfit. Add on a few key elements to dress it up and you have outfit ideas for days.

For this outfit, simply layer with the cardigan, add a long necklace with some color and throw on your favorite pair of sandals for a casual weekend outfit.

Cardigan + T-Shirt Dress + Peep Toe Booties + Handbag

Cardigan Outfit Idea for Spring - Cardigan, Striped T-Shirt Dress, Peep Toe Booties

There’s something about the combination of a cardigan and t-shirt dress that I just love.

Let’s talk about t-shirt dresses for a minute, shall we? Have you tried a t-shirt dress? If not, do me a favor and try one on. It’s one of those dresses I find myself living in come spring and summer. It’s easy to dress up or down. You can wear leggings with it if you want. I can’t think of a shoe that won’t work with a t-shirt dress. Maybe duck boots? Even those would probably end up looking cute. Anyway, what I’m getting at is a t-shirt dress is a fun, versatile item to have in your wardrobe.

I like it paired with a cardigan, a long necklace, peep toe booties and my favorite handbag. (Side note: it also looks great with a denim jacket.)

Let’s wrap this up:

Four Cardigan Outfit Combinations:

  1. Cardigan + Striped Shirt + White Denim + Sandals
  2. Cardigan + Floral Blouse + White Denim + Ballet Flats
  3. Cardigan + Your Favorite Tee + Denim + Sandals
  4. Cardigan + T-Shirt Dress + Peep Toe Booties

These four cardigan outfit ideas will help you pull together something to wear this spring in a jiffy!

Which outfit was your favorite?

Double Duty Beauty Products That’ll Save You Time and Space

These double duty beauty products don’t mess around! They work great. They save you time and they help you reign in the clutter that so easily stacks up in our linen closets and under our bathroom sinks.

Double Duty Beauty Products

I don’t know about you, but if I were to look in my linen closet right now it would make my head spin. This is definitely an area I could use some help in and slowly but surely I’ve been going through my stash, throwing away expired items, sharing things I’ve never used and seriously questioning a few of my purchases.

Here are five double duty beauty products worth checking out.

Double-Duty Beauty Products

Product #1 Pixi Double Cleanse

I’m still double cleansing every night and am loving the benefits, so when this double cleansing product from Pixi showed up on my doorstep, I did a little internal happy dance. Why? Because for one, I love Pixi products and two, they combined two products into one package which is great for travel and my mission of simplifying life.

It’s a brand new product that hasn’t been out that long and I am 100% hooked and will definitely be ordering it myself from Target.

Pixi Double Cleanse Product Review

What it is: Unique 2-in-1 jar created by Caroline Hirons where one side contains a solid cleansing oil and the other side a luxe cleansing cream for the ultimate PM cleansing.

How to use it:

• Step 1: Apply a coin size amount of cleansing oil onto dry skin
• Step 2: Massage into skin
• Step 3: Remove with moist facecloth
• Step 4: Now follow by applying a coin size amount of cleansing cream onto skin, massage thoroughly, remove with moist facecloth

I’ve been using it for 2 weeks now and still have a lot left. So if I could guess, I’d say it’ll last me a month and a half to two months.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Creamy Lip Oil

If you like lipgloss, and one that’s not sticky, but you also like the moisture of a lip balm – then this is the product for you. Too Faced Sweet Peach Creamy Lip Oil is infused with peach essence, coconut oil and vitamin E. They have many gorgeous shades to choose from, perfect for spring and summer.

I sure did and I loved them! Those were a hot commodity and this Clarins product is bringing me right back to those days. It’s a Limited Edition product and is only available at a few stores: Macy’s, Nordstrom, Clarins.

Clarins’ all-in-one makeup pen has 4 retractable colors so you can shape and define eyes and lips in a click. Keeps all of your liners in one place. Pop it into your pocket or purse for easy lining any time.

Everyday Beauty with Curél and Family Circle Magazine

Family Circle March Issue

I’m so excited to have teamed up with Family Circle Magazine again for their March 2017 issue! This is their wellness issue where you’ll learn to change your diet, add more vegetables to your dinner and how to lose a few pounds with the best walking workout. Sounds good to me!

It landed on newsstands February 13th, so be sure to pick up a copy.

Curel Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer

For this month, I had the chance to test out CurĂ©l Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer and share my thoughts on it. Dry skin is a big issue for me, especially in the winter, and taking care of my dry skin is sometimes the last thing on my mind. I always end up regretting not taking better care of my skin when it’s time to break out the shorts and cute skirts again.

CurĂ©l Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer not only helps take care of my dry skin issues, but it’s also helping me get prepared for the season ahead.

Curel Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer

Here’s what else I loved about CurĂ©l Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer:

  • It’s applied in the shower on wet skin and absorbs immediately

Fringe Ankle Boots + When You Want to Wear Spring Tops Now

Casual outfit formula - denim jacket, spring top, denim and ankle boots.

I’ve reached the stage in getting dressed every morning where I’m kind of done with heavier sweaters and cardigans. What I want to wear are breezy tops, light weight denim, and my Birks. But what I want to wear and what’s appropriate weather wise are two very different things.

But since I’m learning to throw fashion rules out the window and wear what feels like me, and right now me feels like wearing spring tops – this is when I love to layer. This is also one of my favorite outfit formulas of all time:

Denim Jacket + A Spring Top + Jeans + Ankle Boots

What’s also great about this look is since it tends to heat up quickly in the afternoons here in Texas, the denim jacket comes off and I have the perfect outfit for a warm, early spring day.

The white top I’m wearing is from North Style and is their Smocked Gossamer Blouse Set. It has a simple tank underneath and the smocked detailing is so pretty. The stand collar and elbow-length sleeves make this shirt stand out among any other shirts I own. Because of the stand collar, it’s easy to layer under the denim jacket. I also really liked the way it looked.

Let’s talk about these fringe ankle boots for a minute. Part of building my dream wardrobe means going through every item I own and making sure I love it and it serves more than one purpose. At least that’s my definition of a dream wardrobe. I really, really, really (that’s 3 reallys) like these boots but am undecided on if I’ll be keeping them.

But just look at them.

Why am I having such a hard time deciding? It’s because of how tall they are. I have kind of short legs, which means when I want to wear ankle boots I have to either roll my jeans or wear ankle jeans with them. I usually like my ankle boots to sit quite a bit lower than these, and I was having a hard time getting my jeans to look right.

But they are incredibly comfortable boots. I love the block heel and the fringe is gorgeous. One thing to note is they do not come in half sizes. I wear an 8 1/2 and went with a 9 and felt it was the fit I needed.
