They asked me to share some fall style tips for their “Fall Into Style” feature. Enjoy!
Fall Into Style
Fall can be a tricky season when it comes to your wardrobe. With its frosty mornings and sun-soaked afternoons, it’s too chilly for summer shorts, but too warm for heavy sweaters. It’s a season of transition and with a few styling tricks, you can easily adapt your wardrobe to the changing climate.
Don’t put away those summer dresses just yet. Layer them with your favorite blazer, cardigan or leather jacket for another season of wear.
Say farewell to those summer sandals and hello to black or brown ankle boots. This is a versatile shoe that can be worn with dresses, skirts, and denim; making it worth the investment.
A scarf is both practical and stylish when it comes to the changing weather and is my personal favorite fall staple. Opt for a medium weight scarf in warm fall colors and patterns. Tie it around your neck for warmth in the mornings, while wearing it open and draped in the afternoons.
I once heard that jewelry is the punctuation of your outfit. Let it make the final statement by layering a chunky necklace with a more delicate one. Fall is also the perfect season for metal bangles and cuffs.
The leaves are changing and so should your makeup colors and skin care regimen. Add deeper hues to your beauty routines such as a burgundy lip or nail color. Lipstick is one of the easiest ways to change up your look for fall and it doesn’t cost a fortune. With the cooler weather comes drier skin. Using a quality cleanser with moisturizing benefits can go a long way in a healthy glow for fall.
I have dry skin all year round and have to use a facial cleanser that is gentle, removes all traces of makeup and doesn’t over-dry. I’ve used dozens of different cleansers and soaps and have walked away frustrated with the products more times than pleased.
I have always been a fan of the brand L’Oreal and have used everything from their makeup and skincare to their hair color and hair care lines. They’re a brand I trust that delivers quality products at a price I can afford. I recently added their Age Perfect Cream Cleanser to my nightly and morning beauty routine.
What is it? It’s a creamy cleanser with replenishing oils for those of us with mature skin. It’s gentle on my skin, yet effective in removing my makeup. Plus, it leaves my skin very soft. A lot goes a long way, so this bottle will last longer than a month.
Are you ready for fall? What are your go-to fall style and favorite beauty products? Don’t forget to pick up the October 2016 issue of Family Circle for more tips to get the most out of the season.
