Inside: Four simple ways to make your home smell good for fall.

How to make your home smell good for fall

This might be a stretch, but I’m pretty sure everyone loves the smells of fall. You know…pumpkin, fir trees, cinnamon, all of those comforting, fall-like smells.

For me, these smells bring back wonderful fall memories and keep the stress of the busy season from getting to me too much.

So how can you make your home smell like the most wonderful season of the year? Here are a few ways.

4 Simple Ways to Make Your Home Smell Amazing This Fall

Candles

How to make your home smell good for fallOf course, candles are one of the best ways to make your home smell like fall. With the thousands of scents, prices, and sizes, there’s a candle for everyone, and they are super easy to find. Bath and Body Works candles are my personal favorite, but you can find them at Walmart and Target. For the fall scents, burn candles with hints of pumpkin, cinnamon, campfire, apple, and evergreen trees. While candles are wonderful, however, be sure to exercise caution and never leave a candle unattended. Here are some ideas:

Essential Oils

How to make your home smell good this fallIf candles aren’t your thing, definitely try essential oils. These don’t require as much caution as a candle, as you can leave an essential oil diffuser running without risk of a fire. You can also dab some essential oils on your wrists for these lovely fall scents throughout the day. Try oils like cinnamon, clove, fir, ginger, and orange. These scents mixed together will provide an excellent fall scent, and you can combine them in the diffuser any way you would like. Here are some oils you can try:

Reed Diffuser

How to make your home smell good for fallIf neither of these is an option for you, try using a reed diffuser, a glass of oils with rods sticking out that absorb the scent of the oil and release it into the air. When the oil runs out, you can refill the glass with the same oil, or try a different one. Try this option if you are in a small space or plug-in air fresheners/candles aren’t allowed where you live.

Simmering Pot

Another option is a simmering pot, which reminds me of my childhood. This is how we did it back in the day. Just simmer herbs or fruit in a pot over the stove! An easy peasy and more affordable way to make your home smell good for fall.

This creates the perfect fall scent using supplies you probably already have. If you would like to know how to make these homemade scents, visit 9 Homemade Air Freshener Stove Top Potpourri Recipes Or Fragrant Home: 15 Simmering Pot Recipes.
